Holiday hours for New Year's

I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted from the holidays! Exhausted in a good way: we had a terrific holiday season here at Sidecar for Pigs Peace, and we have you to thank. Thank you! I look forward to sending a nice end-of-year contribution to Pigs Peace Sanctuary. And now it's time to take a breather, since it's a traditionally slow period for the store. This week we'll close early on New Year's Eve (at 5pm), and we'll be closed all day Friday. As of Saturday, we'll be back to our usual schedule: 10am-8pm every day except Mondays. So plan ahead: you won't want to be caught without any bubbly when it's time to ring in the new year!

Vegan Bake Sale

Bake Sale results

Another way that Sidecar supports Pigs Peace Sanctuary is through our quarterly bake sales, and our Winter '09 Bake Sale was a testament to our talented bakers, and dedicated shoppers. Together we brought in nearly $700 for Pigs Peace! Although I swoon at anything topped with struesel, I can also affirm that *everything* was delicious, from the pink piggie sugar cookies to still-warm sticky buns. If you missed it - or are still fondly reminiscing, as I am - don't worry, the next one is scheduled for March, in the nick of time to snap us out of late-winter doldrums.

Daiya Cheese status report

I have sorta-good news! I just got off the phone with the former-former Daiya cheese distributor. It seems he and Daiya have ironed out their differences, and he's distributing Daiya again. He will have a new shipment to us, he promises, shortly after the new year. I'm going to give him a little more leeway than that, and suggest you start dreaming of Daiya around Jan 10th. It's a totally arbitrary date that I just made up, and I will send out an email when it's actually on the shelf.

I hope the holidays were good to you, and that 2010 is your best year ever.

Love,
